ViaBTC | ViaBTC|The Lucky Few: Solo Miners Earning Block Rewards

ViaBTC’s Ambassador Program gives mining-focused creators, operators, hardware sellers, and community managers a structured referral arrangement rather than a one-time promotion. General referrals receive 10% of eligible service fees for 12 months, while approved Ambassadors receive 20% while their Ambassador status remains valid. ViaBTC’s August 2026 announcement describes eligible Ambassador referrals as receiving lifetime commissions. New referred users receive a 50% fee-discount coupon for 30 days. Applicants need at least 5 effective referred main accounts with connected hashrate in the previous month, while active Ambassadors must maintain at least 10 effective referred users per month under ViaBTC’s published assessment rules.

ViaBTC has operated since 2016, giving the Ambassador Program a longer operating history than many short-lived crypto referral campaigns. The company said in 2026 that it serves more than 2 million users across over 150 countries and regions. For someone recommending a mining pool, those figures matter because a referral relationship may continue for years rather than ending after one purchase.

The payment structure also makes it easy to understand what produces a commission. A referred person must register through the Ambassador’s referral link or code, connect mining hashrate, and generate mining proceeds. ViaBTC then calculates the referral payment from the service fees associated with that mining activity; account creation by itself does not produce a commission.

A referral is therefore tied to operating mining equipment, not to clicks, page views, newsletter sign-ups, or an account that never sends hashrate to the pool.

The difference between 10% and 20% becomes noticeable once an Ambassador works with miners who operate continuously. If a group of referred miners generates $2,500 in eligible pool service fees over a period, a 10% rate represents $250, while a 20% rate represents $500. At $10,000 in eligible fees, the same comparison becomes $1,000 versus $2,000.

Those examples are illustrations rather than income forecasts. Actual amounts depend on referred miners’ hashrate, uptime, chosen coins, pool fee schedules, mining periods, and continued Ambassador status. ViaBTC also states that the actual referral ratio shown on the Referral Rewards page governs the account, so users should verify the live account terms before estimating future commissions.

The application threshold favors people who already have contact with real miners. ViaBTC defines an effective referred user for the application requirement as a main account with connected hashrate. An applicant therefore cannot qualify simply by collecting five inactive registrations. The published requirement is at least 5 effective referees in the previous month before the Ambassador application can be submitted.

That requirement fits several common mining businesses. An ASIC reseller may speak with customers immediately before their machines go online. A hosting operator may assist clients with pool configuration. A YouTube creator may publish setup guides used by owners of S19, S21, WhatsMiner, or other ASIC hardware. A Discord or Telegram administrator may answer pool and payout questions every week.

For those groups, the referral link can sit inside work they already perform. A setup guide can explain the pool address, worker format, payment method, and monitoring process, while the referral link handles registration. A hardware seller can include the same information in post-sale documentation rather than adding unrelated promotional messages.

ViaBTC’s mining infrastructure gives an Ambassador more technical material to discuss than the commission percentage alone. Its August 2026 pool documentation lists BTC, BCH, LTC, ZEC, DASH, and KAS connections, with PPS+ and PPLNS available for several listed coins. BTC and LTC also support merged-mining arrangements according to the current mining-pool information page.

That matters when the audience includes miners with different hardware. SHA-256 operators may focus on BTC or BCH, while Scrypt miners may examine LTC and associated merged-mining arrangements. An Ambassador who can explain payment methods, server choices, fee treatment, worker configuration, and payout behavior has more useful material than someone posting a referral link without mining context.

Pool scale can also be checked rather than assumed. ViaBTC’s public statistics page recently displayed about 98.79 EH/s of BTC pool hashrate against approximately 938.03 EH/s for the Bitcoin network, although both figures change continuously. The same page reported 52,780 BTC pool blocks and a historical orphan rate of 0.03% at the time captured by the source.

Miners can review the current ViaBTC Pool Hashrate rather than relying on a fixed number copied into an article. Hashrate can move materially within days because mining farms switch pools, new ASIC capacity comes online, equipment is shut down, and network conditions change.

The 30-day user incentive also affects how a referral can be presented. ViaBTC states that successfully referred users receive a coupon providing 50% off mining fees for 30 days, available across supported coins under the published referral announcement. The referred miner therefore receives a defined fee reduction rather than only helping the person who shared the link.

A simple numerical example shows the size without overstating it. If a miner would otherwise pay $200 in eligible pool fees during the coupon period, a 50% discount would reduce that amount by $100, subject to the coupon terms and applicable fees. A miner facing $600 in eligible fees would see a $300 difference over the same 30-day coupon window.

ViaBTC also states that the referral relationship belongs to the main account, while eligible subaccounts inherit that relationship. If one referred customer operates several mining subaccounts, mining activity across them may contribute to the referral calculation. Merged-mining coins are excluded from the stated referral calculation, an important detail when comparing gross mined coins with commission records.

The program has no published cap on the number of referrals. Scale therefore depends less on collecting registrations and more on finding miners who actually connect equipment. Five active farm operators can represent much more hashrate than 500 inactive account holders, which is why audience size alone says little about how well an Ambassador account may perform.

ViaBTC’s status rules also require continued participation. The Help Center says an Ambassador should maintain no fewer than 10 effective referred users in the current month. If that requirement is missed for 3 consecutive months, Ambassador qualification automatically becomes invalid. Existing referred accounts then move to the general-referral rules, and a former Ambassador may apply again when eligible.

Someone applying with 5 qualifying users should therefore plan beyond the approval stage. The published assessment level rises to 10 effective referred users, and maintaining Ambassador status affects how existing referrals are treated.

ViaBTC says Ambassador applications are reviewed and the result is sent by email within 7 working days. The process begins in the Referral Rewards area of the account center, where qualified users submit the required application information. No separate mining business is required by the published application description, although applicants still need the qualifying referred accounts.

Referral payments are also handled on a frequent schedule. ViaBTC’s Help Center states that referral rewards are automatically allocated at about 08:30 UTC+8 each day, although delays can occur. Users can review referral records on the Referral Rewards page, giving Ambassadors a practical way to compare referred mining activity with credited commissions.

For content publishers, this daily record can help identify which material brings actual miners rather than casual traffic. A channel might receive 50,000 views on a broad Bitcoin video but only a few mining registrations, while a tutorial watched by 2,000 ASIC owners may produce more connected hashrate. Measuring effective referred accounts is more useful than treating every view as equal.

Hardware sellers can use a similar approach. A seller shipping 25 ASICs in one month already has 25 conversations with people preparing to mine. Providing a clear pool setup guide, payment-method comparison, server information, and referral disclosure adds useful operating information without turning the customer relationship into constant promotion.

Community managers have another advantage: repeated contact. A mining group with 500 members may contain only a small percentage of active equipment owners, but questions about rejected shares, pool configuration, payment methods, or worker setup reveal who is actually mining. Helping those users first makes the referral relationship easier to explain.

Any promotion should still disclose the commercial relationship. A reader should be told that the Ambassador may receive a 20% share of eligible ViaBTC service fees when the referred account mines. Clear disclosure lets the miner compare pool fees, payout methods, hashrate statistics, server availability, and the 30-day 50% coupon with the full commercial arrangement visible.

The strongest candidates are therefore people already close to mining operations: ASIC owners, hosting companies, hardware retailers, mining educators, technical creators, pool-comparison publishers, and administrators of active mining communities. The program is less suitable for a general crypto audience with little Proof-of-Work activity because inactive registrations do not satisfy the mining requirement.

ViaBTC’s structure favors fewer productive referrals over large volumes of empty accounts. The published numbers make the workload measurable: 5 effective referees to become eligible to apply, 10 effective referred users for the monthly Ambassador assessment, a 20% Ambassador referral rate, a 50% fee coupon lasting 30 days for referred users, and a platform history extending from 2016 to its 10th anniversary in 2026.
